Survey on knowledge of sexually transmitted disease among different people in Dalian

Objective To learn the knowledge status of sexually transmitted disaase among different groups of people in Dalian for effective prevention of the deseases.Methods Face to face interview and questionnaire survey among 8 groups of people in 4 counties and districts of Dalian were conducted.The questionnaire and analysis method recommended by China CDC Sexual Disease Prevention Center were adopted.Results Based on the data collected from 4 222 participants,the average knowledge rate was 55.12% with significant difference among different guoups of people(χ²=584.47,P<0.001).The floating population had the lowest knowledge rate(28.80%),followed by students(46.97%),men who having sex with men(47.23%),and prostitute(55.90%).Conclusion Different guoups of people have different knowledge status on prevention of sexually transmitted disease and health promotion should be different for various population.
