Meta analysis on relationship between serum adiponectin level and stroke

Objective To evaluate the relationship between adiponectin level and stroke.Methods Ameta-annlysis of studies published dom estically and abroad about the relationship between adiponectin level and stroke was conducted with comprehensive quantitative analysis.Results Based on the criteria,10 studies were selected with a total of 746 accum ulative cases and 1016 controls.Meta-analysis results showed that the overall effect value was Z=4.76(P<0.00)and the mean difference value was-4.25(95%CI:-6.00-2.150).Inverted funnel plot showed the distribution of a funnelshaped approximate symmetry.The small sample studies distritivity analysis showed that the combined effect(Z=4.55,P< 0.00)was smiilar to that of after low-quality study excluded(Z=4.76,P<0.00).Conclusion The decrease of adiponectin level is significantly associated with stroke.
