Dietetic status and awareness among medical students

  • ObjectiveTo unde rstand the dietetic status and awareness among medical students and to provide scientific evidence for nutritional education.MethodsWith a self-designed questionnaire,431 students in Southern Medical University were investigated.ResultsMedical students had a good understanding of dietetics,but there still were 11.1% of the students skipping breakfast.According to recommends of Chinese Nutrition Society,only 14.6%,5.8%,and 27.1% of the students to okenough amount of eeg,milk,and fruit.67.5% of the students had a proper amount of meat and vegetables in almost every meal, but too particular about some food was common in the students.ConclusionStudentsc dietary habits are not reasonable.Dietary education aimed at streng thening the die tetic awareness and ability of self-control is helpful for medical students to establish a healthy diet structure and to improve their nutritional situation.
