Active acquirement of tuberculosis knowledge among tuberculosis patients from floating population

ObjectiveTo study the active acquirem ent of tuberculosis(TB)knowledge among TB patients from flo ating population and to analyze its influencing factors.MethodsTotally 314 pulmonary TB patients in floating population from seven districts of Shandong province were randomly chosen with stratified-cluster sampling method and interviewed with a self-made questionnaire from July to Sept.2008.ResultsAmong the 314 TB patients,189(60.2%)acqucired TB knowledge actively;125(39.8%)patients didn't have the initiative to gain the knowledge.The influencing factors for active acquirement of TBknow ledge included educational level, occupation,medical security and understand ing of TB before the incident of TB.ConclusionIt is of great significance to actuate patients to gain TB knowledge actively by raising the cultural level, expanding medical security coverage and stepping up propaganda effort.
