Abstract
Objective To study the effects of Se-polysaccharides in Codonopsis pilosula on mesentery microvessel response and anti-oxidation enzyme in rats with acute hypoxia. Methods SD Rats were treated with Se-polysaccharides in Codonops is pilosula and then exposed to hypoxia. The diameter of the microvessel, speed of bloods tream, the activities of supe roxide dismutase(SOD),glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px),catalase(CAT),and the content of reactive oxygen(ROS) in plasma of the rats were measured. Results Compared with the control group, the speed of the bloods tream became fast gradually(3.27±0.81,2.97±0.67,2.74±0.62 mm/s at 10,15,25 minutes after hypoxia;P<0.01,P<0.05).The content of ROS went downs lightly(575.00±14.63 u/mL,P<0.01).The activities of SOD,CAT and GSH-Px were increased (185.11±13.92 Nu/mL,75.76±3.22 u/mL,27.85±3.01 u/mL,P<0.01).Conclusion Acute hypoxia could enlarge mesentery microvessels, slow the speed of blood stream and decrease the avtivity of anti-oxidation enzyme.Se-polysaccharides in Codonopsis pilosula could increase the speed of bloods tream and the avtivity of anti-oxidation enzyme.
