Abstract
Objective To study the relationship between adipocyte fatty acid-binding protein(A-FAB P)and insulin resistance in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver. Methods Overall 119 patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver and 120 normal controls were choosed.Hight, weight, waistc ircum ference(WC),hip circum ference, body mass index(BMI),waist-to-hip ratio(WHR),triglyce ride, total cholesterol(TG),high density lipoprotein, fasting blood glucose(FBG),fasting blood insulin (FINS),homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistant index(NOMA-IR),and adipocyte fatty acid-binding prote in of the subjects were detected and compared. Results Compared with the control group, the lever of A-FABP increased (13.45±5.06 vs 9.14±5.00μg/L,P<0.01).The level of A-FABP had positive correlations with BMI,WC,W HR,HO-MA 2IR,FINS,FBG,TG,systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure(r=0.560,0.538,0.384,0.426,0.341,0.345,0.256,0.359,P<0.01 for all),and negative correlation with high density lipoprotein-C(r=-01337,P<0.01).Conclusion Insulin resistance is present in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver and correlates with the level of adipocy te fatty acid0binding protein.
