Adult attachment and its influencing factors in undergraduate from rural areas with left-behind experience in childhood

  • Objective To explore the status of adult attachment and its influencing factors in the undergraduates from rural areas with left-behind experience(URLB).Methods A total of 1 062 students from two colleges of Hebei province were investigated by Experiences in Close Relationships Inventory Questionnaire(ECR).Results The score of adult attachment avoidence dimension among the URLB was 4.155±0.529;the attachment anxiety score was 3.819±0.822.Regression analysis implied that gender and contact frequency with parents influenced the adult attachment avoidance points(β=0.236,0.073) and gender,family life satisfaction,start time of left-behind,communication with raising people,and mother's profession affected the attachment anxiety scores with the β value of 0.079,-0.074,-0.12,and 0.066,respectively.Conclusion Adult attachment of URLB is influenced by gender and left-behind experience in childhood.
