Abstract
Objective To study the antioxidation effect of wheat bran peptides on D-galactose induced oxidative injury in mice. Methods Oxidative injury model in mice was induced by D-galactose.The mice in treatment groups were orally given wheat bran peptides at dose of 150,300,600 mg/kg·bw.The spleen and thymus gland were collected 42 days after the treamtent to determine the irindices In addition, the malondialdehyde(MDA)contents, superoxide dismutase(SOD)and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)activities in serum and liver were assayed. Results For mice in dose group of 300,600 mg/kg·bw,body weight gain were 5.92±0.73,6.19±0.30;the thymusindex were 4.39±0.06,4.56±0.15;the spleen index were 2.3±0.12,2.96±0.11.The increases were all significant(P<0.01)The content of MDA significantly decreased and the activity of SOD and GSH-Px significantly increased both in serum and the liver of oxidative in jury mouse model(P<0.01).Conclusion Wheat bran peptides have significant antioxidation effect on D-galactose induced oxidative injury in mice.
