Passive smoking among adolescents in Qinghai province

ObjectiveTo understand the status of passive smoking among adolescents in Qinghai province and to provide scientific basis for smoking control.MethodsA questionnaire survey was carried out among pupils,high school and college students.ResultsAmong the 799 adolescents,the rate of passive smoking at home and other places was 43.18% and 38.92%,respectively.Of all adolescents,86.11% recognized that passive smoking could do harm to health.Only 53.19% of adolescents agreed with smoking bans in public place.ConclusionThe rate of passive smoking is high among adolescents in Qinghai province.Active propaganda and health education for passive smoking control must be carried out.
