Drug resistance and its influencing factors among patients with multidrug-resistant tuberculosis

Abstract
ObjectiveTo investigate the status of drug resistance and its influencing factors among patients with multidrug resistant tuberculosis(MDR-TB).MethodsThe status of drug resistance,treatment of tuberculosis,lung lesions and complications of 100 MDR-TB patients were analyzed with TB drug susceptibility test.ResultsOf all MDR-TB patients, 96(96.0%)did not follow the principle of TB treatment(early,joint,adequate,regular and full treatment).Among the patients,there were 85 men and 15 women with 51.0% of patients more than 60 years old.There were 92.0% of the patients with resistance to three kinds of anti-TB drug and 43.0% of them with complications.Sex,educational level,per capita income,age,history of the tuberculosis treatment were associated with MDR-TB.ConclusionThe incidence of MDR-TB is associated with irregular treatment,as well as with gender,educational level,per capita income,age,history of tuberculosis treatment.
