Health attainment status among different populations in Wuhan city

  • ObjectiveTo understand the health attainment status of urban,rural residents and floating population in Wuhan city,and to provide scientific basis for developing intervention strategy.MethodsOverall 5 600 residents were selected with multi-stage stratified sampling and a face-to-face interview was conducted.ResultsThe mean score of health attainment was 34.4±8.1.The health attainment score of urban redidents was higher than that of rural residents and floating population(F=300.325,P<0.01).The level of health attainment of rural residents and floating population was not significantly different.The three health-attainment-related aspects were higher among urban residents than that of among rural residents and floating population(P<0.01).ConclusionRural residents and floating population are the focus of health education and health attainment skills is the key element of health education.
