Epidemiological analysis on inpatients of novel H1N1 influenza A in Beijing

  • ObjectiveTo analyze epidemiological characteristics and treatment of the inpatients of novel H1N1 influenza A in Beijing.MethodsEpidemiological data of 593 inpatients of novel H1N1 influenza were analyzed.ResultsThe majority of the inpatients was young people,and 55.1% of the inpatients were input-cases.The cluster inpatients were 336, which were mainly from schools and families.Of all the inpatients,92.25% had flu-like symptoms of fever,cough,and phlegm,with an average duration of 5.5±2.6 days.The average hospitalization time was 5-18 days.ConclusionThe epidemic of the novel H1N1 influenza A was moderate in Beijing.The strategies for control and prevention of the novel H1N1 influenza A and the treatment should be changed with the improvement of cognition on the disease.Integrating the prevention of novel H1N1 influenza A into the routine surveillance of seasonal influenza is one of effective measures against the pandemic of norel influenza A H1N1.
