Reproductive tract infections and influential factors of health service utilization among rural childbearing age women

  • Objective To investigate the in fluential factors of health service utilization among childbearing age women with reproductive tract infection symptoms in rural areas.Methods With stratified random sampling method, 9 355 women aged between 18 and 45 in 5 counties were selected and investigated with a questionnaire survey.Results The proportion of the women with one symptom of reproductive tract in fection was 55.7%, that of with two symptoms was 33.7%, and that of with three or more symptoms was 10.6%.The treatment rate of the women with the symptoms was 48.9%.Ethnicity, education level, occupation, annual percapita income, marital status, knowledge of tran smission route of reproductive tract infection, and infection symptom were influential factors of the health service utilization among the women.Conclusion The preva lence rate of reproductive tract in fection among rural childbearing age women is high, but the rate of health service utilization is not high.
