Expert investigation on importance of influencing factors of behavior problems in elementary school children

  • Objective To study the opinions of experts on influencing factors of behavior problems in elementary school children in China.Methods Investigating forms were distributed to 43 Chinese experts to get their judgments for factors and the weights of the factors determined by analytic hierarchy process(AHP).Results The top 6 risk factors were family atmosphere(10.485%),type of family(7.112%),atmosphere of surrounding environment(6.168%),regular communication between teacher and parents(5.653%),education ideal of teachers(5.313%),and proficiency of teachers in knowledge of children's physical and mental development(5.168%).Factors of family,teachers and atmosphere of surrounding environment were important influential factors for child behavior problems.Factors of mothers showed strong influence on child behavior problems than those of the fathers.Conclusion There are obvious difference in the importance of 33 influential factors for behavioral problems among primary school children and the analytic results can offer rational reference to the implementation of prevention and interference measures.
