Early diagnosis of primary lung cancer with multiple tumor-associated antigens mini-array

  • Objective To evaluate the value of a panel of twelve tumor-associated antigens(TAAs) mini-array in the early diagnosis of lung cancer. Methods Totally 174 lung cancer patients and 92 healthy individuals were selected. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was performed to detect all TAA antibodies in the serum. The diagnostic value was evaluated by epidemiological methods in screening. Then receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC curve) was used to determine the best combination of TAAs mini-array and judge its diagnostic value. Results In serum samples from lung cancer patients, the positive rates of TAAs were significantly higher than those in the healthy controls(P< 0.05).The sensitivity in lung cancer diagnosis using single antigen was low.The sensitivity of Calnuc was the highest(27.0%) and that of cIAP1 was the low est(12.6%).The sensitivity, specificity,Youden's index, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and the under-ROC curve area of the combinational application of 12 TAA antibodies mini-array in the detection was 72.4%,91.3%,0.637,94.0%,63.6%,and 0.819,respectively.Conclusion The 12 TAAs mini-array could be a indicator in early diagnosis of lung cancer. The application of 12 TAA antibodies mini-array could be a valuable method with high sensitivity in serological diagnosis of lung cancer.
