Health-related behaviors among students in a military medical university

  • Objective To explore the status of health-related behaviors in military medical university students and to provide evidences for establishing appropriate interventions.Methods Stratified cluster sampling method was adopted.Totally 1 022 students from a military medical university were selected for a questionnaire survey.Results About 48.24% of the students liked sw eetmeat.The ratio of students with preference for some food was 33.27%,and 29.06% of the students believed they were overweight.Among the students,23.39% violated traffic rules when crossing the street.There were 64.58% of the students reporting the feel of pressure or hopeless and 57.24% reporting loneliness.There were 34.25% of the students having insomnia because of worrying about some events,98.73% using internet,29.84% spendeing longer time online than their expectations,and 19.18% participating in recreational activities like playing cards.Conclusion We should pay more attention to health risk behaviors among military college students.It is very important to strengthen health education and behavior intervention.
