Evaluation of general module of quality of life instrument for cancer patients in Uygur

Objective To evaluate the validity and reliability of quality of life instrument for cancer patients-general module(QLICP-GM) in Uygur.Methods Totally 497 cancer patients were investigated with QLICP-GM translated into Uygur and back-translated and adjusted for culture background.The evaluation was based on Cronbachs' alpha coefficient,retest reliability,content validity,discriminatory validity,and construct validity.Results The Cronbach's coefficients of all dimensions of the QLICP-GM translated ranged from 0.769 to 0.823,and the paired t-test showed no statistically significant change between the first time and the second time with a good retest reliability.All the internal consistency Cronbach's coefficients were above 0.70.The correlations between the item and other domains were low,and were lower than the correlations between the domain and other domains.Factor analysis resulted in a unidimensional pattern,which supported the use of a total score.The paired t-test showed a statistically significant change between the first time and the third time,indicating the need of further studies.Conclusion The Uygur version of QLICP-GM has good reliability and validity and could be used for evaluation of quality of life among Uygur cancer patients.
