Vaccination of national expanded program of immunization among children in Dalian city

Objective To examine the vaccination status of national expanded program of immunization (EPI) among children in Dalian city and to provide basis for making vaccinaion strategy.Methods Totally 210 children born betw een January 1,2006 to December 31,2007 were selected with probability proportional to size sampling and surveyed for vaccination status.Results The percentages of the children with vaccination record card and certificate were 99.05% and 97.14%.The ratio of the children with the full course of 5 vaccines vaccination (Bacillus Calmette Guerin,oral poliomylitis live atteuated vaccine,diphtheria,tetanus,pertussis combined vaccine,mealses live attenuated vaccine,and hepatitis B vaccine) was form 94.29% to 98.57%.Over 90 percent of the children were immunized with first hepatitis B vaccine in time.Conclusion The results indicate that the vaccination status of the children in Dalian city is good.
