Abstract
ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of smoking on number of CD3,CD4,and CD8 T-cells in blood of rats. MethodsMale Wistar rats were randomly divided into two groups:control group (n=15) and experimental group (n=15).The control group was exposed to air.The experimental group was exposed to cigarette smoke. The numbers of CD3,CD4,and CD8 T-cells in peripheral blood were measured. ResultsThree months after the smoking exposure, the numbers of CD3 T-cell and CD4 T-cell in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, while the number of CD8 T-cell was higher. ConclusionCytoimmunity response is impaired at the first three months of exposure to cigarette smoke in rats.
