Requirement of online emergency management training system among staff in disease control centers in Heilongjiang province

ObjectiveTo investigate the status of public health emergency management training in health administrative departments of Heilongjiang province and to provide reference for the establishment of online emergency management training system. MethodsA face-to-face questionnaire survey about health emergency management training and the requirement for online training system was carried out among the staff in 10 centers for disease control and prevention (CDCs) at prefecture,county or district level selected with random cluster sampling in Heilongjiang province in June 2012. ResultsAmong 1 033 staff surveyed,45.9% reported fair requirement and 19.3% reported extreme requirement for online training system for emergency management.There were more than 40% of the staff in CDCs at prefecture level and 30% of the staff in CDCs at county or district level approved the advantage of online training system for emergency management. ConclusionThe defects of conventional training approach can be compensated by online training system.Health emergency online training platform should be developed for the staff in CDCs at grassroots level particularly.
