Relationship between life stress and problem behaviors among Tibetan university students

  • ObjectiveTo explore the relationship betwee life stress and problem behaviors among Tibetan university students and to provide scientific basis for psychological health education. MethodsWe investigated 400 Tibetan college students with life stress scale and teenage behavior questionnaire. ResultsLife stress and problem behaviors were positively correlated(all P<0.01) in the students.The study and life stress had significant effect on school maladjustment(β=-0.209) and test anxiety(β=-0.284).Peer relationships affected retreat(β=-0.252) and neuroticism significantly(β=-0.243).The development of the relationship between male and female had significant influence on attack(β=-0.146) and discipline (β=-0.306).Self-identity and self-expectation of life pressure affected four dimensions of school maladjustment(β=-0.213),withdrawn(β=-0.293),neuroticism(β=-0.233) and test anxiety(β=-0.293). ConclusionLife stress influences the generation of problem behavior among Tibetan college students.
