Association between polymorphism of NR3C1 gene and risk factors of cardiovascular diseases

  • Objective To explore the association between single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)of human glucocorticoid receptor(GR)gene(NR3C1)and the risk factors of cardiovascular diseases.Methods Totally 762 healthy people who took physical examination were involved.Medical information and risk factors of cardiovascular diseases were collected.Fourteen tag SNPs and five functional SNPs in GR gene were selected and genotyped.Results For GG homozygous on rs4143247,the carriers had higher levels of body mass index(BMI),systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP)and a lower level of plasma glucose than those with genotypes CC+CG(P <0.05).Compared with genotype GG+GA on rs7701443,BMI,waist-to-hip ratio(WHR)and SBP were higher than those with AA homozygous(P <0.05).For genotype GG on rs17209251,the carriers had increased levels of SBP,DBP,total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol(P <0.05).Conclusion The polymorphism of GR gene is related to the risk factors of cardiovascular diseases.
