Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between proactive personality, coping efficacy and employment pressure among college graduates. Methods With convenient sampling,310 college graduates were measured with proactive personality scale, college students coping efficacy questionnaire, and employment pressure questionnaire for college students. Results The experience of being class cadre in the college influenced employment pressure and there were no differences in the employment pressure among the graduates of different gender, residence before entering the college and whether being a only-child in the family.Among the graduates, proactive personality was positively correlated with coping efficacy significantly(r=0.65,P<0.01),while negatively correlated with the employment pressure significantly(r=-0.18,P<0.05);coping self-efficacy was negatively correlated with the employment pressure significantly(r=-0.38,P<0.01).The structural equation model fitted the data well(χ2/df=3.14,root mean square error of approximationRMESA=0.08,comparative fit indexCFI=0.93,Tucker Lewis indexTLI=0.89,and incremental fit indexIFI=0.91).Coping efficacy had completely mediating effect in proactive personality and employment pressure, with a mediating effect of -0.284(P<0.01).Conclusion The complete mediation effect of coping efficacy on the relationship between proactive personality and employment pressure is significant among college graduates.
