Abstract
Objective To investigate the incidence and influencing factors of side effects of anti-tuberculosis drugs among tuberculosis patients in Xinzhuang community of Shanghai city, and to provide implications for making intervention strategies. Methods The medical records and follow-up information of 394 tuberculosis patients newly registered in Xinzhuang community of Shanghai city from January 1,2010 to December 31,2014 were collected and analyzed to determine the incidence and influencing factors of side effects of anti-tuberculosis drugs among the patients. Results Of all the patients,82 (20.81%)were identified with side effects of anti-tuberculosis drugs.Of the 82 side effect sufferers,33 (40.3%) showed abnormal liver function;7 (8.5%) had gastrointestinal reaction;12 (14.6%) reported joint and muscle pain;23 (28.1%) had skin rash;6 (7.3%) were detected with optic nerve injury;and one (1.2%) was diagnosed as hyperbilirubinemia.Multivariate unconditional logistic analysis showed that suffering from complications of tuberculosis (odds ratio=2.166,95% confidence interval:1.114-4.212) was a risk factor of the occurrence of side effects of anti-tuberculosis drugs among the patients. Conclusion The main side effects of anti-tuberculosis drugs were liver damage and skin rash among tuberculosis patients in Xinzhuang community of Shanghai and the incidence of the side effects was influenced mainly by the condition of tuberculosis complication.
