Problems and countermeasures for oral public health service in China

The study aims to explore the way to promote the development of oral public health in China.We conducted field surveys and interviews with professional personnel in 14 counties of 13 provinces to examine current situation of oral public health service in China.The study results revealed that imperfect service system and mechanism,incomplete and limited coverage of oral health education and promotion are two major problems for oral public health.Based on analyses on underlying reasons,we put forward five suggestions for oral public health service in China:establishing perfect system and mechanism for oral public health service,making development plans and work guidelines,integrating oral public health service into primary public health service,and improving basic service capability through various approaches.
