Abstract

Abstract

Objective To investigate the distribution of glutathione-S-transferase A1(GSTA1)gene polymorphism in Han population of Guangdong.
Methods The genotypes of GSTA1 in 217 Han people were detected by PCR-RFLP.
Results The GSTA1 genotype frequency for types of A^*/^*A, B^*/^*B and A^*/^*B were 76.0%(165/217), 2.8%(6/217)and 21.2%(46/217), respectively.There were no statistical differences between that of males and females(P > 0.05).
Conclusion The GSTA1 gene polymorphism in Guangdong Han population is similar to that in Japanese population, but significantly different form that in America white and black.
