Study on laboratory and field deratization effect with 2 genera tion anticoagulant rodenticides

  •   Objective   To understand the laboratory and field deratization effect with 0.005% Brodifacoum poison bait and 0.037 5% cumatetralyl, and to provide scientific data for deratization in the future.
Methods   The group feeding method was used to deter mine the palatability of the poison bait and the laboratory deratization effect. And the powder trace method was used to determine the field rat density and calculate the deratization effect.
Results   The ingestion index was 0.43 for Brodifacoum and 0.72 for Cumatetralyl. The laboratory deratization rate was 100% for both poison baits. The field deratization rate was 98.11% for Brodifacoum and 98.06% for Cumatetralyl. And the corrected deratization rate was 98.02% for Brodifacoum and 97.98% for Cumatetralyl.
Conclusion   Both poison baits, which are good in palatability, with Cumatetralyl better, have good laboratory and field deratization effect.
