Epidemiological analysis on norwalk-like viral gastroenteritis in Gu angzhou in 2003

  Objective   To discuss the epidemical characteristic of Norwalk-like viral gastroenteritis in Guangzhou city in 2003.

  Methods   To analyze the Norwalk-like viral gastroenteritis cases reported in 2003 by the method of field epidemiological investigation.

  Results   There were 8 outbreaks of Norwalk-like viral gastro enteritis and 396 cases in guangzhou from Oct to Dec 2003.Each outbreak was approved to be Norwalk-like virus nucleic acid or antigen positive in some stool specimens.

  Conclusion   The positive rate of RT-PCR is larger than that of ELISA, and stool is preferer.The Norwalk-like viral gastroenteritis tend to occur in outbreaks.Taking control measures as soon as possible can avoid diffusing.
