Correlation study on influential factors psychic health of doctors and nurses in febrile out-patient clinic

  •   Objective   To analyze the effect of social support and coping style on the psychic health of doctors and nurses in febrile out-patient clinic, which could provide scientific testimony for psychic intervention study.
      Methods   The psychic test scales were designed by Institute of Psychology. CAS(Chinese Academy of Sciences)was used to investigate the effect of social support and coping style on the psychic health of doctors and nurses, 717 doctors and nurses in febrile out-patient clinic and ordinary out-patient clinic of Military Hospital underwent this investigation, multiple regression analysis was used to analyze the results of the two groups.
      Results   The self-rating scores of negative emotional factors of doctors and nurses in febrile out-patient clinic were significantly higher than that of ordinary out-patient clinic personnel, namely the former's psychic health level was significantly lower than that of the latter's. The scores of subjective social support factors 1 and 2 were 2.703 9±0.549 8 and 1.159 2±0.484 2 respectively. The subjective social support score was notable inversely related to psychic health factor score; the score of directly coping style was 0.439 4±0.143 6, the score of avoidance coping style was 0.209 8±0.550 0, the score of yielding coping style was 0.156 4±0.121 4, there was a inverse relation between directly coping style score and psychic health factor score and a directly relation between yielding coping style score and psychic health factor score. While no correlation was found between avoidance coping style score and the level of psychic health.
      Conclusion   Superior social support and passive coping style were the great factors that influenced the psychic health of doctors and nurses in febrile out-patient clinic, so it was important to help them improve the sensation of social support and the skill of coping style.
