Serological surveillance on influenza H1 antibody of population in Jiangsu province

  •   Objective   To understand the antibody levels of influenza H1 among the people in Jiangsu province, to describe the distribution characteristics of influenza H1NA, in order to acquire the basic seroepidemiolgocial material of influenza H1NA.
Methods   The antibody of influenza H1 was measured by the hemagglutination inhibition test. The antibody come from natural populations (e.g.farmers who breed fowls or pigs, residents who live around farm or a little far) living in different areas(Xuzhou, Nanjing, Wuxi)of Jiangsu province. Combining with the epidemiological data, the results are analyzed by statistical χ2 test methods.
Results   The positive rate of antibody of influenza(H1NA)viruses was 32.96%, and GMT was 1:7196 among the population in Jiangsu province. The antibody levels of subtype H1 were different in areas and ages. The antibody levels among the human populations in Xuzhou were higher than that in the other areas. The antibody positive rates and GMT in other age groups were lower than the age group < 25 years, especially in the age group < 15years.The antibody levels of subtype H1 were found no difference at the aspects of occupation and years(between 2000 and 2001).
Conclusion   The antibody levels of subtype H1 were lower among the people in Jiangsu province. The risk to break out is still in existence.
