Path analysis on related factors causing internet addiction disorder in college students

  •   Objective   To explore the related factors that cause Internet Addiction Disorder (IAD)in Chinese college students and the relationship between these factors.
      Methods   1 712 college students aged from 17 to 25 were draw from some universities or colleges in Wuhan urban by cluster sampling accepted a questionnaire investigation. A path analysis was employed to analyze the related factors causing IAD in college students.
      Results   The attraction from inter net and self-confidence were the first factors causing IAD in college students and third factors were depression, and distrust to others, which affected IAD in the indirect way affecting the second factors.
      Conclusion   The mechanism that the factors caused IAD was complex and logical arranged. So, attertion should be paid keystone factors to prevent the college students from catching IAD.
