Study on dynamic changes of cryptosporidium and bacteriophage f2 in source water diverted from Luan river

  •   Objective  To grasp the pollution situation and dynamic changes of protozoan and viruses in the source water diverted from Luan River.
Methods  The sampling sites were choosed according to pollutants drained along the Luan River diverted channel, the situation of crossing with other rivers and the distribution of water brakes. The pollution of source water polluted by protozoan and viruses were indicated respectively by cryptosporidium and bacteriophage f2.They were condensed by special appliance.Cryptosporidium was counted under microscope after a serial of treatments.Put Ecoli 285 host into filtered water containing bacteriophage f2, and cultivated homoiothermicly, then counted.
Results  The results were positive of each site, the point rates of cryptosporidium and bacteriophage f2 were 57.7% and 63.9 % respectively, and highly concentrated in spring-summer and autumn. The counts of cryptosporidium in the sites were high except Yuqiao Reservoir and Yixingbu Pump Station; the counts of bacteriophage f2 were higher in the upper -end -middle stream, and lower at Yuqiao Reservoir and the downstream.
Conclusion  The source water diverted from Luan River was polluted by protozoan and viruses. It was suggested that the natural water ways and ditches uncovered should be covered, and surveillance should be imposed on pollution source along the channel.
