Analyses on results of SARS early-warning experiment program

  •   Objective   The experiment program of early-warning on SARS was collaborated by China Ministry of Health and World Health Organization in Beijing, Guangdong province and Shanxi province, the results of monitored patients were evaluated by the first People's Hospital of Shunde district.
      Methods   The patients that came to the outpatient department of internal medicine, emergency room and fever outpatient department from Dec., 10, 2003 to Jan., 10, 2004 were monitored by the hospital using the diagnostic criteria authorized by China Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
      Results   23 045 person-times were accepted during the period, there were 101 airway infection cases(0.44%); 19 fever combined with pneumonia cases(0.08%); no SARS war ning case was found.
      Conclusion   Monitoring system consummation can find airway infection cases and fever combined with pneumonia cases easily and it is benefit for SARS cases confirming and taking prevention actions in time.
