Effects of blood sugar and endothelin-1 on hyperglycemia rats' retina

  •   Objective   To observe the early ultrastructure change of hyperglycemia rats'retina by using transmission electron microscope, and to explore its relationship to blood sugar and endothelin-1(ET-1).
      Methods   The model of hyperglycemia rats were reproduced by injecting alloxan monohydrate into abdominal cavity, ET-1 in plasma and blood sugar could be measured by radioimmunity methods and blood sugar instruments respectively, and ultrastructure changes could be seen by electron microscope.
      Results   With the prolongation of course and the increment of the level in blood sugar and ET-1, the retinal basilemma incrassated seriously.The functional compensation in retina of interfere group was active, furthermore, there were not incrassation.
      Conclusion   It was closely interrelated between blood sugar and ET-1.Early control of blood sugar could postpone the occurrence and development of retinopathy.
