Analysis on prevalence and risk factors of chronic disease in residents of Dandong

  Objective   To study the prevalence and behavioral risk factors for chronic disease in city of Dandong.

  Methods   The adults aged over 20 years were investigated abouthealth condition and behavioral risk factor with stratified sampling.

  Results   The prevalence of hypertension, hyperlipedimia and coronary heart disease(CHD)were 15.51%, 31.53% and 8.22% respectively.The rates of smoking, drinking, diet with hyper salt, overweight and insomnia were 25.65%, 19.60%, 17.77%, 29.26% and 19.73% respectively.Multi-variable analyses showed that over weight, fat, smoking, drinking, diet with hyper salt were significantly associated with hypertension, hyperlipedimia, CHD, stroke, Diabetes.The more years one drinked and smoked, the higher risk one suffered from chronic disease.Prevalence rates of CVD, stroke, and diabetes raised higher among persons with overweight accompanying hyper tension and hyperlipidemia than healthy group.

  Conclusion   Hypertension, hyperlipedimia and CHD were main chronic disease in Dandong rural.Health education, stop smoking and hypertension control were the major intervention measures.
