Effects of nutrients on alcoholic fatty liver in rats

  •   Objective   To examine the effects of complex nutrients on alcoholic fatty liver in rats.
Methods   High fat and ethanol induced alcoholic fatty liver models, and the intervention groups received nutrients before gavaging ethanol. After 4 weeks, all the rats were killed. The hepatic samples were taken for pathological section, and transaminases, lipids and lipid peroxidation were also estimated.
Results   The concentrations of serum AST、ALT and γ-GT, as well as TG, TC and FFA levels in intervention groups decreased significantly.Hepatic GSSG and LPO concentrations decreased severely in intervention groups also.
Conclusion   The intervention nutrients played an important role in preventing alcoholic fatty liver, and a possible mechanism was antioxidative capacity.
