Objective Using Neurobehavioral Evaluation System-Chinese3(NES-C 3)to study the relationship between emotional state and exposure levels of workers exposed to noise.
Methods 83 noise-ex posed workers and 84 non-exposed workers were investigated.Neurobehavioral function evaluation consisted of two tests, including profile of mood state (POMS)and semi-structural project test(SSPT).
Results There were significant differences in POMS and SSPT between exposed and non-exposed workers.Based on multiple factor stepwise regression analysis, it was found that when noise level increased, POMS test of tension-anxiety, depression-dejection, anger-hostility, fatigue-inertia score increased; SSPT of speter, sad, anger, surprise score increased; gratification commonly score decreased.
Conclusion Long-term noise exposure may affect the emotional state of exposed workers, elevate negative mood.
