Conjugated R Plasmid Determination in Salmonella typhi and S. paratyphi

The results of drug sensitivity test and R plasmid determination of 109 strains of Salmonella typhi and S.paratyphi are reported. Four strains (3.7%) were found to be chloramphenicol resistant, three of which carried Rplasmid. All these R-plasmid-carrying strains were double or triple drug resistant.
