Detection of Rotaviruses in Feces of Patients by Immunoenzyme Spot Assay

  • Immunoenzyme spot assay (IESA) Was carried out on the filter membrane of nitro-cellulose.The principle and the process of operation of this method are similar to those of ELTSA except the difference is the solid phase used.We have determined 38 stool specimens collected from diarrheal infants by indirect IESA and ELISA.The results showed that this IESA is simple, inexpensive, easy to reproduce and no special epuipment was needed and can be completed in 2.5 hours. There was no significant difference between ELISA and IESA (X2=1.12,P>0.05) in examination of rotaviruses in feces.
