Determination of Iodine In Food by High Performance Liquid Chromatography-Spectrophotometry

  • A method for determination of iodine by high performanceliquid chromatography-spect rophotometry has been established.The chromatography conditions were:column, Shim-pack DIOL-15;mobile phase, methanol-0.01mol/ L H3PO4(10∶90);flow rate,1.2ml/min;detection wavelength, 224nm.The linear rangewas from 0.010mg/ L to 1.0mg/ L with a correlation coefficiency of 0.9993.The detection limit of iodine was 1μg/ L.The method has been applied to the analysis of milk powder and table salt.The RSD was in the range from 2.9%~ 8.7% and the recovery was from 93%~ 103%.
