Cost-effectiveness of Malaria Case-detection in Low level Malaria

During 1995~1996,study on simplified schemes of malaria case-detection was conducted in Xiantao,Jiangling of Hubei province.The result shows:The blood examination fee of perfever was RMB 1.78 yuan.The parasite rate was 9.45%,positive detected rate was 95.38%,its examination fee of per case reached RMB 18.86 yuan if scheme group 2 was implemented.Blood examination fee increased 180 times compare scheme group 4 and scheme group 2.No statistical difference of two scheme was existed in lowing malaria incidence,as well as good control effect.Comprehensive assess with epidemiology and cost-effectiveness instructs that the scheme group 2 in low malaria area where An sinensis was considered as only vector is effective,reasonable and economical measure because of is rapid decreasing blood examination amount,increasing aim and save money,man-power.
