Abstract: Objective To investigate the prevalence of hypertension,diabetes,stroke,and coronary heart disease and its risk factors among civil servants in Quzhou city.Methods A questionnaire survey and a comprehensive physical examination were conducted among 842 civil servants.Results There were 131 civil servants with hypertension,21 with diabetes,7 with stroke,and 16 with coronary heart disease in the subjects.Female subjects and subjects at higher working post showed a significantly higher prevalence of hypertension than other subjects(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the prevalence of other chronic diseases among different groups of the subjects(P<0.05 for all).Gender,age,family history of chronic disease,and smoking were risk factors of hypertension among the subjects.Conclusion The risk factors of chronic disease are gender,working position,education,and smoking for civil servants in Quzhou city.
