Abstract: Objective To investigate the know ledge,attitude,and practice about leprosy,and the requirement of health education on leprosy among floating population and to evaluate the effect of leprosy health education in floating population.Methods To tally 359 floating people were investigated before and after a health education programusing the same questionnaire.Results For all the floating people,57.66% came from the high epidemic areas of leprosy and 82.73% had heard leprosy or seen lepers before the health education.The rate of knowledge related to leprosy was miproved after the health education and the rate of fear and discrmiination aga in stleprosy was reduced.The percentage of the persons being not afraid of lepers and like to contact with the cured lepers increased from 25.91% to 45.13% and 15.60% to 31.75% after the health education among the floating people.Conclusion The special program is an effective measure to carry out leprosy health educa tion among floating population.
