Abstract:
Objective To study the relationship between seasickness and the differential expression of energy metabolism genes.
Methods The real-time PCRwas used to analyze the mRNAlevels of energy metabo lism genes in brain stem of the rats.
Results The mRNAlev els of ATPsynthase, cytochrome oxidase and NADHdeg yorgenase in brain stem of the seasickness rats and seasickness susceptible rats were lower thean theose in the other rats; the mRNAlevel of phosphofr ucto kinase in brain stem of the seasickness rats and seasickness susceptible rats were higher thean those in any other rats.
Conclusion When the rats became seasickness, their brains might be anoxia or oxygen-glucose deprivation.
