Objective   To investigate the epidemiological status of overweight and obesity among Chinese Korean students, and to provide convincing evidence for promoting health of Chinese Korean students.

  Methods   The data of Chinese Korean students participated in the 2000 National Surveilance on Students Health and Physical Fitness, they were compared with the data of Chinese Han students participated in the same project.

  Results   The epidemiological level of overweight and obesity among Chinese Korean city boys was higher than that of village boys, but there was no difference between Chinese Korean city girls and village girls; The epidemiology level among Chinese Korean girls was higher than that of Chinese Han girls.But there was no difference between Chinese Korean boys and Chinese Han boys.

  Conclusion   The epidemiological status of overweight and obesity among Chinese Korean students is severe, and it is urgent of taking measure to prevent and control the epidemiological trend.
