Abstract:
Objective To study the protective effect of grape procyanidin(GPC)on proliferation injury of bone marrow cell injuried by radiation in vitro and in vivo.
Methods In vitro the mice bone marrow cells which were given different dose of GPC, were exposed to 60Coγ-rays one time, and the proliferation of bone marrow cells was measured by MTT assay. In vitro the mice given different dose of GPC were exposed to 60Coγ-rays whole body subacutely, the proliferation of bone marrow cells was measured by MTT dassay, the cell cycle and apoptosic rate were measured by flow cytometry method.
Results In vitro the differences between the irradiating control group and the High-dose GPC group of cell proliferation were significant (P < 0.01).In vitro the cell proliferation and the expression rate of Bcl-2 of the High-dose GPC group increased, it's G0/G1 phase ratio decreased and S, G2+M phase ratio incresed, the apoptosic rate decreased obviously, the differences between each two groups were significant(P < 0.05).
Conclusion GPC can protect the bone marrow cells injury induced by 60Coγ-rays radiation on proliferation and apoptosis.
