Abstract:
ObjectiveTo explore risk factors of bicycle traffic injury among middle school students and to provide guide for control and prevention of bicycle traffic injury.
MethodsA 1:3 indvidualm atching case control study was conducted among 294 bicycle traffic injuries and 882 healthy controls from middle school students in Yangpu district, Shanghai city.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis were performed.
ResultsRiding bicycle in bad weather condition,listening to music,chasing each other,and worrying about the accident significantly increased the risk of bicycle traffic injury with the odds ratios of 2.66,1.59,1.45,and 1.42,respectively.The age was shown to be a protective factor with an odds ratio of 0.57.
ConclusionRiding bicycle in bad weather condition,listening to music,chasing each other,and worrying about the accident were major risk factors of bicycle injury among middle school students.
