Abstract:
ObjectiveTo evaluate susceptibilities of Candida species to three antifungal agents.
MethodsThe Candida
species isolates were differentiated by CHROMagar and Vitek2 YST test kits. And the susceptibility testing was performed with broth microdilution method according to the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute(CLSI)M27-A2 reference method for broth antifungal susceptibility testing of yeasts.
ResultsOf the 1070 isolates collected,
Candida albicans was the most frequently isolated species(748,69.90%),followed by
Candida glabrata and
Candida tropicalis.Overall,87.8% of all
Candida isolates were susceptible to fluconazole,99.5% to 5-fluorocytosine,and 40.3% to itraconazole.
ConclusionAll the
Candida isolates are highly sensitive to 5-fluorocytosine.However,the resistant rate of all the
Candida strains to itraconazole is high.
