Abstract:
Objective To study the partner notification and its influencing factors among the people living with HIV/AIDS(PLWHA) in Xinjiang for the promotion of partner notification.
Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted among 3 071 PLWHA who had been followed by local heath workers in ten counties of Xinjiang.
Results The rate of partner notification among the PLWHA was 81.5% (2 010/2 467),and the rate for the male was 82.2% (1 229/1 495) and 80.3% (781/972) for the female.There were 62.2% (1 251/2 010) of PLWHA conducting notification within a week,52.1% (1 047/2 010) noticing their partner by themselves and 59.3% (1 776/2 994) reporting the expectation to notice their spouse or partner.Multivariate logistic regression showed that the influencing factors included with monthly income equal or less than 500 RMB yuan(odds ratio

Conclusion The rate of partner notification among the PLWHA of Xinjiang is relative high and the influence factors of the notification include local support activities,marriage status and whether they have a child.
