Abstract:
Objective To examine current situation of study consciousness and behavior among freshmen and sophomores majoring in clinical medicine and to provide references for promoting practical ability of the students.
Methods Totally 732 clinical medicine students (366 freshmen and 366 sophomores) in Shenyang Medical College were randomly selected and surveyed with a questionnaire on general information and Self-Rating Scale of Self-Directed Learning (SRSSDL) between October 2015 and January 2016.
Results The average overall score of SRSSDL was 41.83±6.60 for study consciousness and 38.47±7.04 for study behavior,respectively,among the students.The overall SRSSDL score for study consciousness differed significantly by the student's hometown and speciality satisfaction and the score for study behavior significantly varied by gender,study year,hometown,and speciality satisfaction of the students (
P<0.05 for all).
Conclusion The self-directed study behavior needs to be improved among freshmen and sophomores majoring in clinical medicine and the students from cities and with higher speciality satisfaction are good at study consciousness and behavior.
